For Children, Young People And Families
Chevin View Psychology provides comprehensive neuroaffirmative private autism assessments for children and young people.
The process focuses on your child's strengths, differences, areas of need, and the support that may be helpful at home, school, and beyond.
Screening involves an initial call with you and completion of screening questionnaires. For children and young people, an additional screening questionnaire is sent for school to complete where possible.
The screening helps determine whether a full autism assessment is recommended, while also considering alternative or additional explanations such as ADHD or intellectual/learning disability.
The outcome is discussed with you and provided in writing. You do not have to proceed to a full child autism assessment after screening.
If you proceed to full assessment, this will include developmental history and clinical interview (using the Autism Diagnostic Interview, ADI-R), direct clinical observation with your child or young person (using the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2)), further school information or observation if required, review of additional reports, a multidisciplinary team meeting, feedback appointment, outcome letter, and a full report with recommendations.
The report is neuroaffirmative, focusing on strengths as well as areas of need and support, and is typically provided within 4 weeks of the feedback appointment.
