Adult Autism Screening

Screening involves an initial call with you and completion of screening questionnaires. The aim is to help you make an informed decision about whether to progress to a full assessment.

The screening considers whether a full autism assessment is recommended and whether alternative or additional explanations, such as ADHD or intellectual/learning disability, may be indicated.

The outcome is discussed with you and provided in writing. No full report is included at this stage.

Adult Autism Assessment (ADI-R & ADOS-2)

The full assessment will include developmental history and clinical interview (utilising the Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI-R)), direct clinical observation (utilising the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2)), review of additional reports, a multidisciplinary team meeting, feedback appointment, confirmation of outcome letter, and a full report with recommendations.

Where possible, the developmental interview involves someone who has known you since childhood. If this is not possible, the assessment can rely on your self-report.
