Care and compassion
Meeting you where you are and supporting you through the journey of assessment and therapy at your pace.
Hi, I'm Sarah
I am a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist based in Ilkley and Wetherby and Wetherby.
As a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, I have over a decade of experience and formal training in working in the field of psychological assessment relating to mental health and specialist neurodevelopmental assessment, including autism, ADHD, and intellectual disabilities.
I am passionate about supporting emotional wellbeing and, as such, work therapeutically with adults, young people and parents to offer interventions drawing on a range of psychological approaches including cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion focused therapy, narrative and systemic therapy, and positive behaviour support.
Working with young people and adults who are autistic or have ADHD and/or intellectual disabilities is an area of specialism for me.
I also work with young people, adults, and parents before and/or following diagnosis of autism and/or ADHD. My aim is to support people in a neuroaffirming way, furthering their understanding of themselves compassionately and linking this in with emotional wellbeing and practical strategies.
I believe in ensuring that therapeutic approaches are accessible to everyone and therefore have extensive experience of adapting approaches for working with people with additional needs and across the age range.
I am a Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health Care Professions Council. My Registration Number is PYL31070.
I have specialist training in the use of standardised neurodevelopmental assessment tools including the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised, the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, the ACE and ACE plus for ADHD assessment with adults and young people, and the QB Test.
I have completed Introductory and Advanced Supervisor Training with the Yorkshire Clinical Psychology Doctorate Programmes: Leeds, Sheffield and Hull.
I enjoy keeping up to date with recent research and developments in the areas of mental health and neurodivergence, regularly attending conferences and training sessions on related themes and topics.
